Elementary Education

The Elementary Education program at NNU is an exciting program filled with hands-on experiences in local elementary schools. NNU's education programs are viewed by educators around the state and the region as the best around. Because graduates are highly sought after by principals seeking to hire the best prepared teachers, our annual employment rate is almost 100% among graduates seeking teaching jobs. The Elementary Education program leads to certification in grades K-8.

The traditional undergraduate elementary education program is geared to college students who begin their coursework soon after completing high school, but it is also popular for non-traditional students. The program culminates in an internship integrating methods courses with K-5 classroom experience. Interns work side-by-side with a master teacher to gain expertise in managing a classroom and applying best practices in their planning and teaching. NNU faculty supervisors provide ongoing coaching and support.
